The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
